Synopsis
“Stephanie Plum, Trenton, New Jersey’s favorite pistol-packing, condom-carrying bounty hunter, is back – and on the trail of a revenge-seeking waitress who’s skipped bail. With the help of seventy-three-year-old Grandma Mazur, ex-hooker Lula, a transvestite musician named Sally Sweet, and the all-too-sexy Joe Morelli, Stephanie might just catch her woman. Then again, with more mishaps than there are exits on the Jersey Turnpike – including murders, firebombs, and Stephanie’s arch-rival bounty hunter chasing after the same fugitive – Stephanie better watch her back big time if she wants to live to crack this case.”

Review
Since starting this series I have learned something very important: you absolutely cannot go wrong with a Stephanie Plum novel. I laughed my way through this book in the span of a weekend. This series is the ultimate comfort series with lovable characters, romance, and mystery.
I couldn’t believe how much Stephanie and Joe Morelli’s relationship progressed in this book! It seemed like things were off to a slow start in the last three books, but circumstances brought them together in a big way in this book. Stephanie has some important realizations about both of their jobs, the kind of person Morelli is, and the life she wants to live. Their relationship remains in a good place and they more or less arrive at the same conclusions by the end of the book.
The mystery in this one threw me off quite a bit. It’s one where there’s absolutely no way you’ll be able to figure it out so you have to just go along for the ride and know that you’ll get your answers in the end. With this series, it’s all about the journey and not the destination.
I look forward to reading the next book soon.
