Hello everyone! It’s the end of 2022 and time for an update on the reading challenges I participated in this year. You can take a peek at my first post back in January to learn more about the challenges themselves.
This year I participated in the Beat the Backlist challenge for the first time. I also participated in the PopSugar Reading Challenge, a Summer Reading Challenge hosted by Jules at The Literary Lifestyle and the Goodreads and StoryGraph annual reading challenges.
Here are my totals completed for each…
Beat the Backlist
- Total prompts: 51
- Completed: 14
PopSugar Reading Challenge
- Regular prompts: 40
- Completed: 10
- Bonus prompts: 10
- Completed: 3
Summer Reading Challenge
- Total prompts: 3
- Completed: 3
Goodreads
- Goal: 50 books
- Total read: 72
StoryGraph
- Goal: 50 books
- Total read: 72
While it was fun to participate in the PopSugar Reading Challenge for the second year in a row, I don’t see myself continuing with it next year. The prompts are too offbeat for me and never align with my interests. Beat the Backlist is also a great challenge in theory but it did not spark any real interest or inspiration for me, sadly.
My favorite challenge this year was the Summer Reading Challenge hosted by Jules at The Literary Lifestyle. The prompts were easy to work with, and I loved the books I ended up reading for that challenge.
After all of this, I can say that I’m only participating in one reading challenge next year, aside from the annual StoryGraph/Goodreads challenge. Stay tuned to find out what that will be.
I didn’t know about the Beat the Backlist challenge! Cool, I downloaded the spreadsheet for next year. Thanks for sharing and congratulations on reaching your goals. 🙂
