Happy New Year, bookworms!
I thought it would be fun to post about the reading challenges I’m planning to complete in 2022.
This year I am doing the 2022 PopSugar Reading Challenge, and the Beat the Backlist Challenge. I have also set a goal for the number of books I intend to read, both on StoryGraph and Goodreads.

StoryGraph
StoryGraph will be having monthly challenges in addition to the regular “books read” challenge. The January challenge is to read one page a day, and track it, on StoryGraph. What I say next might surprise you: I don’t read every day. Gasp! If the February challenge is more doable for me, I will certainly post updates.
Beat the Backlist
This challenge was started in 2017 and is hosted by NovelKnight. The idea is simple: you read the books that you’ve been meaning to read but still haven’t. I have plenty of books that I have meant to read, so I’ll be keeping track of which ones they are. There are also prompts associated with this challenge which look doable so I may work those in as well.
Goodreads
This year I’ve set my Goodreads goal at 30 books. I intentionally set a low number to avoid the pressures of competitive reading.
I always set my Goodreads to 50 and aim for a book a week, but we will see if it’s doable

I did that last year and even though I met my goal, I’ve found that I tend to read more if I set a lower goal for whatever reason!

So far I’ve just set a numerical reading goal on Goodreads and Storygraph, but after I’ve read a few more books I’ll start looking at more reading challenges and seeing which ones sound doable for me this year! Best of luck on completing all these challenges!
