Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This week’s topic is a Cover Freebie.
I decided to do a list of book cover lookalikes because there are so many!
Here are a few that have stood out to me…
Her Deadly Secrets by Laura Griffin and Little Secrets by Jennifer Hillier
The Night Before by Wendy Walker and Girl Gone Mad by Avery Bishop
Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng and Everything Happens for a Reason by Kate Bowler
Ask Again Later by Jill A. Davis and The Stuff that Never Happened by Maddie Dawson
The Most Fun We Ever Had by Claire Lombardo and A Good Neighborhood by Therese Anne Fowler
What Comes After by Steve Watkins and The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes
The Year of Shadows by Claire Legrand and The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate
We Met in December by Rosie Curtis and One Day in December by Josie Silver
Thinking Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman and How to Write Short by Roy Peter Clark
The Wives of Los Alamos by Tarashea Nesbit and Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly
Working at a library, you tend to learn that certain genres will have similar covers, making it easier to guess what the book title might be even if the patron isn’t sure. For example, when someone comes in asking for “that book with the girls walking away” there’s a very good chance it’s a WWII novel!
What did you choose for your freebie this week? Do you know of other books with similar covers? Tell me in the comments or drop a link to your Top Ten Tuesday post so I can check it out!
Wow, there are a lot of cover lookalikes! I never would have guessed that. I wonder if they had the same graphic designers?

Either that or similar publishers maybe? I think they need some new stock photos perhaps too 🙂

Such a creative take this week! I’ve actually picked up a look-alike book instead of the book I intended to a few times (I think it was Life After Life…), this is a hazard for cover browsers, lol!

Thank you!! It’s one of those things that once I start noticing it, I can’t un-see it! 🙂

I don’t know most of these books, but they indeed look so similar!

Such a fun post, Hannah! I’m not sure if I like the idea of the same/similar image being used for two completely different books, but it is interesting to see the ones that do look alike 🙂

That’s definitely understandable! 🙂

I love what you did for this week’s theme! So many books have similar covers, and sometimes it makes me want to read them and sometimes it pushes me away from them.
Here’s my Top Ten Tuesday!
Happy Reading! 🙂

Thank you! And I’m the same way! 🙂

Wow, these are similar! Publishing is weird. If one cover sells well, suddenly ALL the covers look like that one.
