Top Ten Tuesday: Authors I Discovered in 2019 (Freebie)

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This week’s topic is a freebie. I looked at past Top Ten Tuesday topics for inspiration (as I always do when faced with a freebie!) and found the Authors I Discovered This Year topic. Since we are approaching the end of 2019, I thought it would be fun to do a mini-wrap up of new-to-me authors I discovered this year.

Here we go!

  1. Hena Kahn, author of Amina’s Voice
  2. Elizabeth Acevedo, author of The Poet X and With the Fire on High
  3. Renee Watson, author of Some Places More Than Others
  4. Ottessa Moshfegh, author of Eileen and My Year of Rest and Relaxation
  5. Maurene Goo, author of Somwhere Only We Know and The Way You Make Me Feel
  6. Katharine McGee, author of The Thousandth Floor trilogy
  7. Danielle Steel, author of Turning Point
  8. Mary Roach, author of Packing for Mars
  9. F.C. Yee, author of The Rise of Kyoshi
  10. Susan Dennard, author of Truthwitch (review coming soon)

There were definitely quite a few authors I discovered this year but these were some of the most memorable. All of these authors have written more than just the books I listed, but those are the only ones of theirs that I have read.

I love discovering new authors and then following along with their new publications each year, and I will definitely be following these authors and adding more of their books to my 2020 TBR.

What did you pick for your freebie this week? Tell me in the comments or drop a link to your Top Ten Tuesday post so I can check it out!
