Hello everyone! This will be my final update for NaNoWriMo 2019 because it is officially over! Here’s a glimpse at my stats and some final thoughts…
- I surpassed my 25,000 word goal and finished out the month with 34,200 words total
- The site was still wholly uncooperative for me the last week, but it did reflect my updated word counts when I reached my goal, so I received the “winner” badge on my profile
This was such a fun experience and one of the major things that kept me going this month was the online community of writers both on the NaNoWriMo site and in my city on our local Facebook page.
Though I was unable to attend any meet-ups or write-ins, it was great to be able to see everyone’s encouraging posts and updates and interact with fellow writers. Sometimes we met our goals and sometimes we didn’t, some days we were able to write and other days we weren’t. It was nice to know that I wasn’t alone on those rough days when I simply didn’t have time to write, because let’s face it November is a crazy busy month for most of us.
Towards the end of the final week I had lofty goals of surpassing my word count even further, but unfortunately I became sick and was unable to do much of anything let alone sit down at my desk and write. I’m still proud of the work I did and the progress I made nonetheless.
Congratulations to everyone out there who survived the month – we can finally relax (until next year)!
