Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This week’s topic is Changes in My Reading Life.
I definitely had to think about this one before coming up with a (short) list. Here’s a few changes in my reading life, in no particular order…
- Not Finishing Books. I used to think that if you started a book, you needed to finish it. Now, I am much more open to stop reading books that I am not connecting with or simply not enjoying. There are too many good books out there to put yourself through that kind of torture!
- More YA and Teen. I have been reading more young adult and teen books as of late, and it’s like I’ve struck gold. I am so glad I stumbled into this genre earlier this year.
- E-books. I have started reading e-books more and more. This is partially due to having a tablet now (thanks, Mom!) but also due to simply being open to reading in a different format (that goes for audiobooks, too).
That’s really about all I could come up with for this one.
This is a topic I would love to expand on as it gets closer to the end of the year and reading resolutions are being evaluated – especially since we are closing out the decade next month. I always like to see (and share) how far I have come and how my tastes have changed, so be on the look out for more of this in a future post.
What are some recent changes in your reading life? Tell me in the comments or drop a link to your Top Ten Tuesday post so I can check it out!
DNFing can be a very good thing. I’m glad you embraced it for books that just weren’t working for you. π

Great list, Hannah! I used to read a lot more e-books and I still do read them a lot but I’ve definitely grown my collection of physical books ever since joining the book community (and I love it)! I’d also love to think more about this topic towards the end of the year to shape up more reading goals next year π

Thank you so much! My priority will always be my personal physical collection but I love to use the library resources to get e-books when I can, it’s just too convenient!

Haha, that’s the thing, I love reading ranty reviews when people didn’t like a book! So I need someone like you out there to keep reading and not DNF-ing so I have more reviews to read! π
