I veered slightly off my July TBR list this month. I read a few books that I hadn’t planned to, and I ended up skipping one. The Lost for Words Bookshop by Stephanie Butland was the one I skipped. I don’t think those cozy books-about-books-or-bookstores are for me, unfortunately. Or maybe I just haven’t found the right one?
I read quite a few books for school, which I decided not to review here. They were long, dense textbooks and although these books were literally about books and bookmaking, I’ve had enough of them for now. Maybe I’ll return to review them another time if I’m feeling wistful but I wouldn’t count on it 😉
Here’s the fun stuff I read this month…
Packing for Mars: The Curious Science of Life in the Void by Mary Roach
With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo
The Wife by Alafair Burke
The Way You Make Me Feel by Maurene Goo
I also read but did not review…
Shopaholic to the Stars by Sophie Kinsella (this was a re-read), and Avatar the Last Airbender: The Search Part #1-3 by Gene Luen Yang (these short graphic novels are an indulgence of mine; I love anything related to ATLA and LOK and am looking forward to reading The Rise of Kyoshi soon!)
