Weekend Hike

Last weekend we went for a hike in the McDowell Mountain Sonoran Preserve. It was a brisk sixty-eight degrees, the sun was shining with not a cloud in the sky, and we had the trail mostly to ourselves.

The views were stunning! I know the photos look beautiful, but they really don’t do it justice. Hiking trails like this, just twenty minutes away from where we live are one reason I love living in Arizona. Brown’s Ranch trail is an easy hike, and there are trails for horses and mountain bikes, too.

A Welcome Break

It was so nice to get outside and take a break from all the craziness of last minute projects and studying for my finals. Stretching our legs and getting some sun was so refreshing and rejuvenating. I loved stopping every few minutes and listening to the stillness of the desert. A light breeze was blowing, but other than that it was so still and peaceful. We definitely have to start hiking a little more; not even an hour out there and I was so blissed out the rest of the day.

What About You?

How are you planning to spend your downtime in the coming days/weeks? Tell me in the comments! I don’t know that we’ll go hiking again any time soon, so it was nice to get one last hike in before the end of the year.
