October Favorites

Welcome to October Favorites! For new followers, first of all thank you for joining! Each month I post a list of my favorites – anything from books, news, personal tidbits and other fun things I’ve gathered over the last month. Enjoy!

1.) My pumpkin series this month was so fun! Take a look back at pumpkin bread, cookies, snacks and decorations.

2.) We have a huge empty wall that needs filling – these are some of the pieces I’ve been eyeing from Target

3.)Salt by Nayyirah Waheed is the newest book on my wish list. Check out her Instagram for some seriously amazing, beautiful poetry.

4.) I’ve been really into two podcasts lately: It’s Been a Minute with Sam Sanders and Stuff You Missed in History Class

5.) I’m making a list of books to review in the coming months, and these are a few of the title. Have you read any/all of them yet?6.) A virtual museum honoring the Tuskegee airmen – very cool.

7.) New York City Public Libraries are forgiving all children’s fines 🙂

What were you up to this month? Still getting your Halloween costumes ready? I can’t lie, I’m really looking forward to November and the festive season approaching! 🙂

  1. The Guardian newspaper gave away a free booklet w an excerpt from Maria Semple’s novel.
Writing and book-hunting were my primary concerns this Oct.
Probably won’t b blogging too much during Nov – trying to get on w my medievil novel; yes, I’m doing NaNoWriMo!
Had my first mug of gingerbread latte today – yay! – it’s that time of year again!
That cat in th furry hat is melting my heart,

  2. Wow, NaNoWriMo, good luck!!! I did attempt that last year but as I’m sure you recall it was just an awful time the first week of November and I couldn’t continue. No plans to try it again this year but I am always working on some creative projects (aren’t we all?)
