I don’t normally post life-updates here because I never have anything juicy to tell – shocker! However, one considerable change has happened this year that I wanted to share with you wonderful readers. As of May, I am officially a graduate student at University of Arizona.
I have shared in other posts previously that in the last few years I attended Arizona State University where I received my Bachelors and my first Masters degree. I so enjoyed my time at ASU and it will always have a special place in my heart. However, it has been really exciting to move on to a new school, too!
In case you weren’t aware, University of Arizona is location in Tucson which is about two hours from where we live. I won’t be commuting to campus on a daily basis but I can still go to campus on the odd weekend that I have free, which is what we did recently in my post about the University of Arizona libraries.
I will be studying Library and Information Science. Here are some photos from campus It was blisteringly hot down in Tucson that day – luckily our rental car had sufficient AC, and there were multiple Starbucks across the campus; there was never a better day for an iced-mango-black tea.
The campus has a more traditional layout than what I am used to, but I love it!
As I delve deeper into the world of library and information science, the content of Words for Everything will likely be expanding, too. I will still post book reviews, still pepper in some posts on mindfulness, food, travel and more. I like to keep things here as current and genuine as possible, and that now means sharing more of my life than I have previously; pursuing a graduate degree at a new university, in something I’ve never studied before, is totally new territory for me.
It is exciting and scary, but isn’t everything? I hope you will stick around on this journey with me and thank you, as always, for reading and following along 🙂
Anyone else studying Library and Information Science, with any tips or advice, are more than welcome 🙂
As long as they teach all students how and where to put th books back in th right place, I’m sure u’ll b fine, Hannah!
Great-looking campus! Th palm trees remind me of Singapore and Kuala Lumpur Universities
“multiple Starbucks across the campus”: ah, 5 of the most beautiful words in th English language
Lucky u: in my time @ Manchester Uni (lost in th aeons of time, of course) w had to traipse all th way to th city centre to find decent cafes
Looking forward to further updates
GOOD LUCK!
