Used Book Sale Finds

On Friday afternoon I stopped by the library to pick up some books on reserve, and lo and behold this sign greeted me at the entrance:

Whaaat. I haven’t been to a used book sale in forever. So we made a point to go back today and see what we could find. The community center rooms just off the entrance to our favorite neighborhood library were filled with pop-up tables lines with books: paperbacks, hardbacks, children’s and juvenile. We combed through the rows and saw titles familiar and new. I was most thrilled to find a copy of Sherman Alexie’s Reservation Blues in pristine condition. What a score!

The bottom two books, E.E. Cummings’ Complete Poems 1904-1962, and Angela Merkel: The Chancellor and Her World, were the two I checked out previously. All the others were my book sale finds. Some I had actually been wanting to read, and others just looked like they might be good. For fifty-cents each (and twenty-five for the small paperbacks) I couldn’t say no. I do wish that there had been more advanced notice though, because I definitely have a bunch of books I would have shared for the sale, especially since the money goes right back to the library.

More of our weekend goings-on coming soon 🙂
