I know, I know, you probably eat in the kitchen every day. That’s where the
table food is, right? But what about eating in the kitchen at a restaurant? That’s exactly the idea behind Buca di Beppo, the Italian restaurant in downtown Scottsdale.
Now, you don’t have to sit in the kitchen. They have an entire dining room with normal chairs and table and booths. In fact, we had to put in a special request with our reservations to get a booth in the kitchen as there are only a handful of seats there. Since we were celebrating a special day (birthday boy pictured below, left) it was more than worth it.
Our view from the table (above and below) but the pictures don’t do it justice. All night there were servers rushing back and forth, hostesses leading guests through to the dining room, and the head chef was hovering nearby, inspecting every dish personally before it left the kitchen.
Would you eat in the kitchen just to get an up close view of the action or do you prefer a quiet atmosphere when you go out? We generally like to keep it low-key so this was a fun way to mix things up. That’s what birthdays are for 🙂
